The upper arm is made up of numerous structures including the humerus bone, biceps muscle and triceps muscle.
Some of the more common sources of pain in the upper arm include:
- Tears to the biceps or triceps muscles
- Referred pain from the neck, shoulder or elbow
- Irritation of the nerves that run from your upper spine to your fingers
